Our Classrooms

Check out my classroom for the 18-19 school year!  I fell in love with flexible seating last year, so I kept the layout pretty similar.  My biggest change was ditching my HUGE teacher desk.  I considered replacing it with a smaller standing table but then I realized I didn't need to replace it at all!  I love having the extra space that can be used by students.  I also worked on streamlining more of my colors to make the room less busy on my student's eyes.

Our hallway theme this year involved travel, adventure and books!  I plan on hanging our favorite read-alouds throughout the year on the board to remind us of the adventures reading brings.

Goodbye, teacher desk!

Here's a glimpse of my classroom for the 2017-2018 school year!  The big change this year was going from desks to tables in order to implement some flexible seating options for my kiddos.  It's still a work in progress- the first year implementing flexible seating is a learning curve!  All of these pictures were taken AFTER my first week with kids in the room, so I'm pretty impressed with how everything is holding up so far.

This year, my first grade team decided that our hallway was going to be "habitats" themed.  Each teacher selected a habitat to display outside their rooms- can you guess mine?!

I keep trying to get my husband to let me show a few pictures of his Kinder classroom, but he's not quite in love with that idea ;)  I did snap a quick picture of one of the books he has on display in his BRAND NEW classroom.  His school moved to a new building over the summer and I thought this was the cutest book for the first day of school!
